Coming this Saturday, Sep 11th - 12th Annual Rotors Over Mentone!

This year's "Rotors Over Mentone" Fly-In event will honor our First Responders and Frontline Workers (Fire and Police Departments, Emergency
Medical Services) and our Military. Our guest speaker will be Phil Smith.

Phil Smith is a 1979 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School and is the son of Carol Boyer of Mentone. He lives in Claypool with his wife Royal and has four children and nine grandchildren. He is a former U.S. Marine Corps combat correspondent and former daily newspaper editor who has won seven U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Awards, four U.S.M.C. Division of Public Affairs Merit Awards, The Department of Defense's Thomas Jefferson Award and 12 Hoosier State Press Association Awards. He is also a second place winner nationally in the annual column-writing competition from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, humor category. Smith has a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Colorado State University.

Helicopter rides will be offered by American Huey 369 (with membership) and by Cleveland Helicopter Services.

Weather permitting, hopefully both Lutheran Air and Parkview Samaritan hospital helicopters will fly in for the event as well as other helicopters.
Radio Station WIOE, Oldies 101.1 FM plans to be at the museum and will be broadcasting Live.

This event will be held on Saturday, Sep 11th at the Lawrence D. Bell Aircraft Museum, 210 S. Oak St, Mentone IN.
Admission and parking are free.

10:00 Morning Helicopter Rides (Cleveland Helicopter Service) until 11 am, Food Tent opens until event closes

- Placing of Colors - Warsaw American Legion Post 49 Color Guard
- National Anthem - Band Members of Tippecanoe Valley High School
- Recognition of "Our Heroes" in the Audience

- Event Speaker - Phil Smith
- Closing Remarks - Tim Croy
12:00 - Helicopter rides resume until close (American Huey 369, Cleveland Helicopter Service)
